Organic goji berries (lat. Lycium barbarum) is a woody shrub that gives high-energy valued berries with flavors of berries and chocolate.
It grows on the Himalayas where is for centuries used not only in the kitchen but also in medicine. After collection, goji berries are carefully washed and dried at a temperature which not exceeding 45°C. Most of the nutrients from fresh berries is thus saved, and due to water evaporation goji berries become sweeter and pulpier. Goji berries are the most popular superfood in the world. They are also called “happy berries”, “wolf-berries” or “red diamonds”. According to the US ORAC scale which measures oxidising products it is on the first place. What is ranking higher, these foods have a greater capacity to destroy free radicals that threaten the health and accelerate the aging process.
Goji berries are rich in antioxidants, amino acids and essential fatty acids. They are also rich in vitamin C, B complex vitamins and vitamin E.
Comprising 19 amino acids, 8 essential, 21 mineral (iron, copper, zinc, selenium, potassium, magnesium…), as well as the beta-carotene that are extremely rich. It can be seen by the intense red color of berries.
Usage: The recommended daily intake is 2-3 teaspoons a day (10-30g)
